Our employees are not only part of history, they are making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Space Systems Sector has an opening for a Software Engineer (level 2) or Principal Software Engineer (level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama.\n\nIn this role, your responsibilities include:\n\n * Writing programs using C++, Java or similar languages\n\n * Participating in demos for the team and program Sprint reviews\n\n * Working within an Agile team environment, to include Program Increment Planning, Iteration Planning, Feature and Story development, Sprint Planning, and Iteration Retrospectives.\n\n * Collaborating with Stakeholders and Government customers\n\n * Creating and running automated software builds and pipelines in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment\n\n * Developing software documentation\n\n * Creating and running unit test\n\n\n\n\nBasic Requirements:\n\n * (level 2) - Bachelor\u0027s Degree and 2 years of experience; or no experience with a Masters Degree.\n\n * (level 3) - Bachelor\u0027s Degree and 5 years of experience; or 3 years of experience with a Master\u0027s Degree; no experience with a related PhD.\n\n * Proficient in C++\n\n * Multi-core and multi-threaded programming\n\n * Experience with containerization\n\n * Experience programming network connections (message generation, formatting, UDP and TCP/IP interfaces)\n\n * Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS\n\n * Experience with GitLab/Git for software configuration management\n\n * Must have an active Secret clearance to start\n\n * Full time onsite\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Familiar with Scaled Agile Framework\n\n * Familiarity with MDA Sensors and missile defense systems\n\n * Jira - issue tracking and agile project management, or similar tool\n\n * Experience with Java and user interfaces\n\n * Experience with Microservices\n\n * Agile Scrum\n\n\n\n\nWe Offer:\n\nNorthrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that fosters your growth, supporting both employees and the company\u0027s success. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
