Research Fellow in Global Mental Health Implementation Science Harvard Medical School – Department of Global Health and Social Medicine We invite applicants for a postdoctoral research fellow position in the Mental Health for All Lab (MHFAL) at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. The lab focuses on generating knowledge and effective utilization to reduce the global burden of mental health problems through novel approaches such as digital technology or task‑sharing for scaling up proven interventions. We welcome applications from recent PhD graduates interested in these or related fields, particularly those willing to bring new technology or perspectives. Responsibilities Develop and implement an independent research project that extends and complements lab work; write and submit proposals to fund research; secure and maintain IRB and regulatory approvals; conduct analysis, publish findings, and disseminate results through presentations at conferences and scientific meetings. Act as scientific liaison for day‑to‑day oversight of research activities between Harvard Medical School, project sites, and collaborators; conduct and lead data analyses across study components; manage virtual meetings and frequent travel to project sites. Design intervention materials, training content, and data collection instruments; lead implementation of study protocols; monitor data collection and quality in the field. Support capacity building within the team at Harvard Medical School and at project sites through presenting work to local stakeholders and research collaborators, providing guidance and mentorship to research staff, and engaging stakeholders in dissemination of findings. Location and Travel Based in Boston, MA, with frequent travel to field sites in the United States and internationally. Application deadline 8/31/2026 Duration and Salary One‑year term from date of hire, with possibility of extension contingent on performance, business need, and continued funding. Salary is competitive; postdoctoral fellow salary and benefits are determined by years post‑PhD and can be reviewed at Basic Qualifications Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biostatistics, bioinformatics, implementation science, medicine, health economics, social work, sociology, clinical psychology, epidemiology, or related fields. Expertise in research design and data analysis, including clinical trials, implementation science, economic evaluation, digital health, statistical analysis for clinical trials, or big data analysis. Demonstrated track record engaging in fieldwork, meeting stakeholders including participants, clinicians, community members, and researchers. Experience working with or collaborating with researchers in community settings, especially underserved and low‑resource areas. Ability to travel for international fieldwork. Current knowledge of serious mental illness, mental health problems, and service interventions for low‑resource settings. Additional Qualifications Clinical, professional, or research experience within disaster response or humanitarian settings in the United States or elsewhere. Ability to travel between the USA and India.
