Position Type: Skilled Craft/ Equipment Operator, Landfill Date Posted: 3/6/2026 The City of Nashua is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Division of Public Works in the Solid Waste Department as an Equipment Operator, Landfill. JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for the operation of trash compactors, off‑road dump trucks, loaders, compost machines, road graders, bulldozers, water trucks, backhoes, collection equipment and any piece of City or rental equipment in use at the Solid Waste Department or for snow removal. This position is also responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance, including oil changes, fueling, and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment. This is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work‑life balance. The position is grade 4, with a starting hourly rate not to exceed $30.40.
